Remove Social Icon Through Child Theme

Hello,

I am relatively new to WordPress. I have been able to successful create a child theme. Implement it on my local environment and make changes to the parent theme (e.g. color/text size).

Right now there is a section of code in the main theme (Enigma Premium) that I would like to comment out which is a simple social media icon.

When I comment the code out in my child theme it does nothing in the parent (expected). My question is how do I get code to be commentated out in the parent using the child theme?
