• With the most recent upgrade to Jetpack, all the carousel picture clicks are now recorded as page views in the stats. I don’t want this, I want to only track track actual views of pages and articles, not individual pictures within those pages and articles. How can I disable the tracking? Thank you!

It looks like I’ve found a “quick fix” in simply commenting out the lines following the section labelled “Handle WP stats for images in full-screen” in the jetpack-carousel.php file.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Thanks for the feedback! We’ll see if we should revert that change, or add an option to make it possible to disable that option without having to edit Jetpack files.

An option would be great, I think or maybe having image view totals separated out. I mean, the more data collected, the better, and it was interesting to know what pictures were being viewed. But for those few days, I was not getting an accurate number of pageviews. A few of my articles had galleries with a dozen pictures or more and it was driving up the stats quite considerably. It’s important to have a consistent metric, especially if I want to quote those numbers to a potential advertiser or something like that. Thanks for the consideration!

Im a fan of the new function but i also want to track all viewed single pictures in the jetpack carousel as an pageview in my google analytics. I read some threads here about it but it still dont works.

Can you give me an simpel advice to to this?

That’s not supported by default in Jetpack, so you’ll need to implement that change yourself. You can find out how here:
