Im using the paid version of this plugin and im using the plugin to to switch between two languages on my site (swedish and english)

The problem is that the entire blog section on my site, havent been translated to English and only using default language ( Swedish), while the rest of the site has been translated to English also.

The problem i have now is that the “translation” flag is showing up on the nav bar on all my blog posts (which havent been translated to English), which results in blank pages when people click on the English translation flag (due to no English posts).

Is there a way to disable the plugin from even running on some Urls? Like i want to disable it on https://www.testsite.com/en/blog/ but still want it to run on all other pages on the site.

  • Hello there,

You can do this by going to: Settings -> TranslatePress -> Advanced -> “Exclude strings” and scroll down until you find “Do not translate certain paths”.
Choose the “Exclude Paths From Translation” option and add all the paths that you want to not show the language switcher.

For your example, you will have to add: /blog/*
Here is how you add multiple paths: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VbVGPR1yXhwyOGHqUp_9hdz_WctyqQlE/view?usp=sharing

Yeah i tried that, but even tho i add the page or a wildcard (check screenshot below), the “English” flag is showing up on the navigation bar, and when i click on it, a empty page will show.
There is no way to get rid of the english flag using the exclude path. Ive tried different strings (se below)

    Strings on excluded path: https://i.imgur.com/asJsx6G.png

    Any ideas?

    Hello,

I’m sorry for the late reply.

Can you please try to add {{home}} in the excluded paths to see if the flag are disabled or not on the homepage?

It might have something to do with the /year/moth/day permalink structure.

    Best regards,
    Cristian
