Let’s find you missing features quickly. wpDiscuz 7 have only added new features, there is not any features that were removed. So just explain more what do you mean saying “Recent comments” and “most rated posts” option? Are use sure those were in the free core of the wpDiscuz?

I suppose you’re talking about the wpDiscuz Widget addon. Am I right? What’s happened with your addon? Just navigate to Dashboard > plugins admin page, make sure it’s up to date (the version is 7.x.x) and activate it. Then go to Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets admin page and drag-drop wpDiscuz widget to your sidebar.

No. I just wanted a simple “Recent comment” list, a code that I could put in any page and display the N latest comments in the entire blog (NOT the most voted, NOT the most commented, NOT the most active, and NOT confined to a widget menu). It’s so simple, and yet there’s no plugin for that. For WordPress there are a few, but none of them are good or displays parent comments.

Please note, that wpDiscuz is a native WordPress comment plugin, so all other plugins which provides recent comment displaying solutions work for wpDiscuz too. For example, you can use this plugin to display recent comments in any page through shortcode: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/better-recent-comments/

The plugin shortcode is: [better_recent_comments]
It also has some shortcode attributes to customize the displayed comments.
