so I had to remove Yoast because it was just absolute garbage with the last two updates, the final update just breaking everything. Plus being warned every day there is serious SEO problems with my site only to click on it and it says “HEY WE NOTICE YOU HAVE BEEN USING YOAST FOR A LONG TIME, GIVE US A FIVE STAR REVIEW NOW” even though i’ve clicked ‘NEVER SHOW ME THIS AGAIN’ about a million times!!!

I come to find the stupid damn plugin was loading all this anonymous data being sent to sharethis.com whatever the that is, and now its all through the main page of my site. I uninstalled and deleted ALL Yoast SEO data and I will never use this crap again.

now why on earth would Yoast add this garbage into peoples sites? and how do you remove the code from wordpress entirely because now I am getting errors when I check my site that its trying to load

    sc?cm=CvQOC1ilbdQ==&uid=true l.sharethis.com/

    sharethis.js platform-api.sharethis.com/js/ 0 B Open 4192103923 pview?event=pview&version=st_insights… l.sharethis.com/

    sharethis.js platform-api.sharethis.com/js/

I just want to know how to remove all this stuff that Yoast has added by itself for no reason (i have no social media accounts to link to the site!) and I can be done with this garbage forever

thanks to whoever can tell me how to rid myself of this junk forever

  • if you go back to the freebie 4.3 version, it should go back to normal.

I don’t know what they’re doing, but I tried the beta they sent which crashed our site and the latest 4.3.1 is dragging the backend of the site down to be very very very slow.

Funny, as I had the premium version but the free version is the one that works.

Might want to learn to manage your website; “share this” is a separate plugin for sharing links on your posts; it’s not made nor managed by Yoast.

sharethis.com” is kind of a big hint there, frankly.

I don’t have that issue on our dozen sites running both the free and premium versions.

    Good luck!

no shit neotrope, thanks for that absolutely useless piece of information. I found what it was. I don’t have social media anything let alone a stupid plugin. Yoast updated and now on the main page of this site I have <—-YOAST SEO— <link rel=’dns-prefetch’ href=’//platform-api.sharethis.com’ />->

maybe you need to learn to manage your comprehensive skills a bit better before replying rudely,

it only occurred directly after Yoast updated itself

The Yoast plugin does not connect or output anything related to sharethis.com

This means a plugin, theme or piece of custom code has caused the issue. The fastest way to locate the culprit is to deactivate all plugins and switch to a default theme.

Issue happens with no active plugins and default theme -> WordPress
Issue happens with no active plugins and custom theme -> Custom Theme
No sharethis code with no active plugins and custom theme -> Plugin

If it’s a plugin, activate one plugin at a time until the sharethis code appears to determine which plugin adds the code.

Don’t forget to clear cache in between each step to make sure you’re looking at the updated code.
