• I am new to WP. I installed the theme Tesseract2.

I created a home page that displays the text of the pages title on the screed. that is ultimately what I want but I would like to turn it off and to style the look of the text as well. when I click on the text a large text box that occupies the bottom half of this page asking for a comment with a button theat says post comment I would prefer that that not happen.

    Please advise.

    Best;

    Richard

If I leave a comment and then refresh the page, I see this on the home page.

I want the two buttons at the top of the page gone
I want the picture to fill the entire screen

I want an Advill for my headache.

Thank you very much. My site no longer has the comments box, but when I am viewing the page from with in the wp-admin environment and I view the page the comment box is still present. I checked::
Allow people to post comments on new articles
(These settings may be overridden for individual articles.)
and made sure the box is unchecked, which is is.
Is there somewhere I need to see if this page is overridden?

Also if I want an image to fill the screen is the a specific pixel demention that is needed to ensure that the entire screen is covered with the background image?

“Unique 3-D art Prints for office, public spaces” is the site’s tag line so you can either remove it in the css which is better for SEO or you can go to your dashboard settings -> general and remove the tagline.

ditto for the Art For Public Spaces link.

home is a navigation element and you can tweak those under appearance -> menus. do a little digging in the wordpress docs about menus and themes. ??

Thank you again for you reply.
How do I remove the site tag line in the CSS code.
I will need to become comfortable with managing the internals of my site so any advice about learning CSS within WordPress will be essential.

when you create your child theme you’ll need to copy over some of the parent theme’s template files and edit those but if you’re just starting out with both wordpress and web design/development in general then those are some reasonably advanced things to be doing.

as for learning css etc, https://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp is a great place to start. everything you learn about css is 100% applicable to wordpress but the thing is wordpress is a lot more complex than a standard html website and it takes a bit of learning to understand not only how to use wordpress but also how it works so you can make changes to it.

stick with it, and take your time. ??

Thank you. It’s daunting mainly because can I exhaust self searching for the approach resources

    I’ll stick with it.
