    Hi,
I am having an issue of removing an old page from the current website. We have moved all our old links to new website which we currently have. Let say https://Xyz.com/new-clinix.html is the old page and current page is https://xyz.com/system-for-clinics/ . I do not have any access from the WordPress dashboard to access the particular old page
So can I know how to remove that old page. If there is any plugin or other solution without accessing the backend support please let me know.

  • If it is an html file it is safe to assume that it won’t be part of WordPress so if that path is as you suggest, it would be in the root of your file structure.

Access through your hosting or FTP.

That’s because those old pages were created outside of WordPress. And it’s very likely these are static files in your hosting directory (as opposed to WordPress’ dynamic pages stored in the database.

So you’d normally use the File Manager in your hosting provider’s control panel or FTP to find these files (eg new-clinix.html) and delete them.

If you don’t have access to the hosting control panel (or prefer to work from the WordPress dashboard), there are a couple of WordPress File Manager plugins you may install to browse your hosting server to locate and delete the files in question. See: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-file-manager/

And in the odd chance that these old pages were created with some other CMS software, then you’d need to find and remove all the files and folders for that software to get rid of all of its pages.

    Good luck!

Thanks, @judgerookie and @gappiah, for your suggestions. They helped me understand and resolve the issue.

    Hi

    That is good news.

If the thread is no longer required, you may want to close it

How do I mark my post as solved?
There’s a drop-down on the right side of the post for ‘status’, which includes options to resolve your post. You can also use the checkboxes at the bottom of the reply form, to reply and mark a post solved.

If still stuck with the status change, you can ask a moderator to close it.
