removing /blog/ in the URL

@ontraportfrank Is there anything uniquely identifiable to an Ontraport blog post vs standard blog posts on the plugin? Our web developer had structured the pages in our site having a custom permalink set up that is why we get the /blog/ as you advised. However, we cannot remove the customization as it would mess up the entire structure of our website. Is there another suggestion you could provide aside from that?

Let me check with our devs and see if there’s something that can be done to avoid the standard permalink structure.

There are plugins that will rewrite the permalink for custom post types (the OntraPages on your site are technically just a custom post type). I quickly tested three of them and the best one was “Custom Permalinks for Custom Post Types” at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/custom-permalinks-for-custom-post-types/

They add an additional listing on Admin > Settings > Permalinks for each of your custom post types. After you activate the plugin, change the permalink for Ontrapages at the bottom of the Permalinks page. One oddity I ran into is that WP doesn’t seem to rewrite the URLs with the first save, and each plugin I tried required me to leave Settings > Permalinks, then return and save without changing any settings. Then the URLs were re-written.

Test to make sure the plugin doesn’t cause other problems (it may not work with our Pilotpress membership program, for instance).
