Where is the setting to Strip the category base (usually /category/) from the category url?

Since updating all my category pages are now 404’s, where is the setting to remove /category/ from the base?

Why has this changed? Just like breadcrumbs which were activated had to be re-activated since upgrading…

The remove category base setting is now located under Search Appearance>Category URL. Can you please check to ensure this is set to ‘Remove’ and letting us know whether this resolves your issue?

    Hi.
I did it. But after that, all links are broken (error 404). For this reason, I returned to set /category/ option.
How can i to solve this?

Ok so that isn’t very obvious to find.

So after turning this back on I still got a 404, to fix it I then need to go to the permalink page and just hit save, this then solved it all.

    Hello @dfbetancourt1,

Could you please try resetting the category option and hitting save and see if this fixes the issue? We are releasing Yoast SEO v7.0.2 within this week, which should address some of the settings changes when upgrading from v6.3 to v7.0.

I had this same issue. Deactivate, then reactivate the plugin itself, that fixed it for me.

    Hi Michael.

Yes, I could solve the problem.

    Thanks.

There is no “permalinks” section in Search Appearance now. 8/14/2018 after upgrading to 8.0

    thanks
    stu
