Removing Comments From Individual Pages

Hi,
Am I missing something here.
I want to remove the comments from all my pages except the blog. I’ve been looking on these forums for just under an hour and from what I gather I have to remove them by digging into the PHP. Is this correct? If so it seems like a very long winded way to change such an important part of a website.

I can’t think of why a business or any other site that would want comments on their ‘contact’ for example.

I have already unticked the box in screen options, actually when I went into screen options in the first place to remove it, the box was already ticked.
