    Hello,

I am trying to remove the transparent box over my header image. It causes the images to appear dark. I am looking to make it brighter. I’ve looked in the style sheet, and header php but I am guessing I have been looking for the wrong thing. I have googled this as well, but to no avail I have no luck.

I am using the nerocity theme, and my site is beautifulfamily.net

Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist.

    Warm Regards,
    bknysnake

  • Hi bknysnake!

I took a look at the Nerocity theme and if you go to:

    – ‘Appearance’ > ‘Theme Options’
    – Scroll down to the ‘Header’ section.
    – The last item in the ‘Header’ section is titled: Mask Opacity ( % )
    – Change this to 0
    – Scroll to the bottom and click ‘Update Settings’
    – Now look at the live site (refresh the page)

This will remove the black opacity layer placed over the image.

I apologize, but it appears I do not have the “Theme Options” available. Could there be something I did wrong?

That’s strange, is this a fresh install of the theme? There should be a ‘Theme Options’ under ‘Appearance’, in the left side menu, in the Admin area.

Yes, this is a fresh install of both wordpress and the theme. I just started on this site. I have decided to go with another theme as my wife suggested the darkness was making her sleepy lol. Thanks for your assistance!
