    Hey!
First: thanks for this nice plugin. It helps me a lot.
Since the last update mailpoet 3 automatically loads google fonts. Because of concerns regarding the GDPR I hosted the needed fonts on my webspace two years ago. Unfortunately now the connection to the google fonts website has coming back with your plugin.

I search the documentation, the FAQ and the settings in the dashboard of my website, but I didn’t find an option to prevent your plugin for bringin it in again. Even the “delete google fonts” option in autoptimze doesn’t help.

Is there any hook for that purpose?

    Regards,
    Miriam

    Hi @kumpelstilzchen

Sorry, there are no hooks to prevent that. Perhaps you should try to block outgoing connections to Google Fonts on your website. Get in touch with the support staff of your host, they might have some tricks to help you achieve that.

    Hi @mailpoet ,
I also noticed this and it’s a real concern if your want to build your page GDPR compliant. It would be great if you can add an option to deactivate google fonts. I set my forms to use the theme’s standard font so there is no need to load a css from google.

    Hi @mailpoet,
thank you for your quick answer.
I don’t see any sense in modifying my website to keep a single plugin from doing something, thats even necessary. So the best way for me seems to deactive the plugin and search for alternatives to keep my website GDPR compliant.

Maybe it would be appropriate to update the notes for the plugin and adjust the property “GDPR compliant” for it’s not longer accurate. So other users are informed right away.

    Have a nice week
    Miriam

Is there a solution to the problem in the meantime? Unfortunately we have to deactivate the plugin as well and switch to alternative services if it can’t be used GDPR compliant.
