• I’m new to WP and am having trouble working out how to remove the headings of ‘Latest Posts’ and Text Widget’ from the base section of the theme template. Sorry if this is basic, but could anyone please advise on this?

    Thanks.

  • Are you familiar with child themes? CSS? With a child theme you simply copy the relevant file that controls the ‘base section’ and delete the bit you don’t want. Child themes are easy to get your head around and is the solution you are looking for.

Also look up ‘display:none’ for a quick hack in CSS. Essentially you find the element you want to remove (div header or a span), and apply display:none to it. This stops the browser from displaying the element. There’s thousands of articles on this on t’interweb.

Thanks for the response demonboy, however, I’m not really conversant with html & CSS, and having looked at your suggestions I’m baffled!

Is this the only way to achieve what I want to do?

Without knowing about your theme I can’t offer much more, I’m afraid. Have you been in touch with the theme author?

Thanks demonboy – I’ve mailed the author and will see if that brings any joy.
