Removing links in old post on the forum here

  • Hi,

    To get help I posted a link to my site as suggested below “Did you include a link to your site, so that others can see the problem?“, but now I can’t remove or change the link into xxx.
    Can anyone help me?

  • Posts on this forum can not be edited … it’s been that way ever since I can remember.

    I don’t understand then that the folks at WordPress, encourage people to post a link, but not mention that the link can’t be removed.

    Any idea how to contact the folks at WordPress?

    It’s about a post here on these forums.
    I wasn’t aware of having not the possibility of not altering the posts, even more because of the encouragement as mentioned above.

    WPyogi, would you please be so kind and remove my links?

    Perhaps it’s wise to make a note below “Did you include a link to your site, so that others can see the problem?” to make sure people don’t make the same mistake as I did.

    It’s pretty clearly stated in the guidelines — and in most cases, a link to your site is necessary if you want help. Which post are you concerned about and why? As the guidelines state, we really only do that in “extreme” circumstances. Also, this site is very quickly indexed and cached by many search engines, so removing it from here would not remove it from other places on the internet.

    My sincerest apologies. I’m making a site for someone for business purposes and does not want to be found on the internet like this. I understand that wordpress is quickly indexed by search engines, I hope by removing the links that the damage can be contained.
    I would be very grateful if you could help.
