I’ve got wp staging set up successfully on several sites, and now I’d like to remove it. However, selecting delete, inspecting the files and tables that will be deleted and proceeding results in a big red box that says “REMOVING” … and it stays there and never seems to finish. How long should I expect this to take? Did I do something wrong?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

please try this a few times. If your website is very big it take a while until all files are deleted. If you get a timeout error just start over. All files should be deleted after a while.

I am going to improve this soon.

Honestly, I’ve tried deleting the cloned site multiple times for various sites. The message says “REMOVING” and if I left the screen open, it would stay there without changing inevitably. I just tried again with the same results, however I did notice that no database tables are listed in that section anymore. Comparing the size of the “dev” directory that I had saved locally to the one online via FTP shows that there are files that have been deleted. There is no indication as to whether the process is working and in progress, or if it has stalled… Since this is a very unproductive use of my time, can I just delete the “dev” directory via FTP and be done with it? Then deactivate the plugin and delete it too? I’d prefer to not have the extra files and plugins when I’m finished testing and then just add it again if I need it. Is there anything that will be left behind? Please advise.

Yes. You also have to delete the db tables which are beginning with the prefix wpstg1_

This will be fixed in next version
