  • Hi @scotnik

I can’t remove this footer. The text it contains lays right across the middle of any background image I try to add.

It looks like your site is set to coming soon, l cannot see the front end and you cannot provide admin access on this forum. Can you please try to take screenshots of the footer you are trying to remove?

You posted the same issue on the Twenty Twenty and Twenty Twenty-One forums for the same site, can you please go to Appearance > Themes and advise which theme you are using on the site.

Sorry, Yes, I started with the Twenty Twenty-Three template, but it doesn’t allow a background image. So I used the Twenty Twenty template because?it is used by the books I purchased. When I couldn’t get rid of the footer, I tried to use the Twenty Twenty-One template, but with the same result.

I apologize. I’m trying to figure out how to upload an image from a URL.

@scotnik No worries! You can use a tool like https://snipboard.io/ and paste the generated link here, or use your preferred screenshot tool and upload the image to your Media Library. Then, insert an Image block here by clicking the + block inserter and selecting Image. Then, click “Insert from URL” and paste your Media Library URL into the block.

Took a bit of Googling. I hope this works.

I see your screenshots, although I don’t see “nothing here.”

That said, it looks like perhaps you have not yet published any posts, so when you’re looking at your posts page (or a query loop block, if you’ve added one), it’s normal that you would see a “nothing found” message – there are no posts to be displayed.

Do you intend to have any posts for a blog or news section, or are you just using static pages?

Are you using a Query Loop block on the page you’re seeing the “nothing found” error on? Or is it set as your Posts Page?

@kathryn P. Thanks, Kathryn. I didn’t see this soon enough. Your way was easier. It’s embarrassing how new I am to this.

No worries. Now you have multiple ways! ??

@kathryn P. I have been hesitant to publish anything until I got the home page looking like I wanted. I did write posts when I was trying to use the Intrace template, but I couldn’t get down to a template with all the elements removed. Like Twenty Twenty and Twenty Twenty-one, it contain elements I couldn’t get rid of.

I can edit the posts I have created, but can I publish them to whatever template I end up using. I have Google Doc copies of their content, so nothing is lost if my posts won’t attach to anything but the Intrace template.

The “Nothing Here” text is black and hidden by the background photo, but it’s there. I don’t know what a “query loop” is, but I could have inadvertently created or deleted one.

Are you able to make your site public just temporarily so I can have a look at how you have things set up?

    Thread Starter SCOT DENHALTER

    (@scotnik)

I gave it a try. I had no pages. Don’t know why. I added one, but it uses neither template. (celluloidsouvenirs.com) I also published a post.

Thanks so much for your willingness to help an idiot.

Okay. I got it to go live now.

Now the post I published overlays the background image. I guess I need to create a header menu that links to a page listing my posts. I’ll try to figure out how to do that.

Hey there @scotnik – unfortunately, I’m still seeing the “coming soon” page at this end. If you’re able to make it public, I’ll be glad to have another peek tomorrow and see if I can help you sort out what’s happening. ??
