Removing old sitemap

  • Hello!

    We’re running:
    XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress 4.0.5
    WordPress 3.9.1

    A few quick question:

    1. How do we remove old sitemaps? We are showing some old sitemaps from 2010 that haven’t been active for years. How do we remove these? We’ve rebuilt the maps, but they still remain. We need to remove these sitemaps from the XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress plugin.

    2. How do we include subsections of the site that are NOT WordPress? For example we run WordPress in our root and IPB forums in our /f/ directory. Can XML sitemap generator include those as well?

    Hi,

    1. Why you want to remove it? Do they still exist? If yes, they should be included ??

    2. At the moment, there is no function to automatically add external pages, since this option would require some kind of database access to your IPB forum. If the IPB forum has an option to generate a sitemap for its content, you can also add this sitemap in Google Webmaster Tools.

    Wanted to remove them because the sitemap is showing old links that do not exist anymore and haven’t for along time.
