EXPIRY of blog POST: When a new review (blog post) is made, it will be in the “NEW RELEASE” category plus its specified category or other related category. However, I want the post to be removed from the “NEW RELEASE” category after certain amount of days but remain on other categories.
    how can I do it.

  • This is just what I was wondering as well. The ability to assign a certain category for a set length of time which would then expire, but leaving other categories remaining. For exactly the same reason, reviewing new releases.

Is there a plugin that will do this? Been looking but nothing seems to be suggesting itself so far. Thanks.

I am looking for the exact same thing. I have been doing a lot of searching and found that there may be a way to do it with custom fields. I am not a programmer, so I have no idea how to implement.

Basically, we’re looking for a plug-in or a feature to create a conditional category. Like the original post says, a category that has been assigned to a post that will expire. Any ideas anyone?

I think what you’re wanting is what is like we have set up on https://www.i-cmg.com. After a post in the “Hot Issues” is a the set amount of days old, it moves them to the “Archived Issues” category. You can also set this up to just delete the post.

We used the Auto Delete plugin, but made it actually work for 2.5, since the present one does not. Seems like we did a little further tweaking to it, but I’m not sure. If you’re interested in this, then contact me at tammy -a t- tammyhartdesigns.com
