Removing References of Blog Type Page (Comments/Replies,etc..)

  • Hello – 1st and foremost a HUGE thank you to all that you guys / gals contribute!

    Ive recently delved into the world of wordpress in an attempt to have my own first site. i have been reading around that its possible to build yourself a decent site with wordpress and i have gotten so far as to securing a domain name – web hosting via dreamhost – and have been able to make a few small changes in the theme so far by myself such as changing the background image and made the fonts bigger
    BUT …..

    My goal is to make it NOT look like a blog but rather make it look more like a website, so im very lost now that i want to remove all references / instances of “post”, “reply”, etc.,etc..
    i have seen some people post how-to’s but they’re not detailed enough for me to follow.

    Please help me to make it more like a website please.
