• I am trying to start a website where you can purchase my photographs. Currently the save link as and other options are available. I know from past experience that you are able to remove certain right-click options without removing the entire menu. So my question is, how can I do this so people will just save a copy of the photo without paying? Thanks!

  • Your best bet may be to watermark your sample images, and don’t link directly to the high res images that you wish to sell. You can disable right click, but the fact is, anyone who looks at the source code (practically everyone now-a-days) will be able to easily make their way to your images. After that it’s almost impossible to keep them from being copied.

But if you can remove their ability to view the source code, then it won’t be an issue ?? Watermarking can still be removed.

I’m not sure whether to link via Picasa (which does allow direct saving), or upload all the photos to my website’s FTP with watermarks and remove the ability to view source code and save link/image as

But if you can remove their ability to view the source code,

How will you remove their ability to view source code?

    Watermarking can still be removed.

With low resolution samples of the high res product, it’s seems pretty much a waste of time to try and remove a proper watermark. (just my opinion).

remove the ability to view source code and save link/image as

I would be willing to go out on a limb and say with a fairly high degree of certainty, that anything other than a superficial effort in that direction is an exercise in futility.
