• Hi,
Overall this is a great plugin that does exactly what I need. But I’m having one problem I’m hoping someone can help me with.

I’m using the pop up to display an invitation to a fundraiser when someone visits the homepage. The only content is a jpg image with a graphic and the event details.

Everything looks fine in the Live Preview on the edit page. But then on the actual site the pop up window has a vertical scroll bar, and the image is repeating below it. Here’s a screenshot.

Initially I added the image using the WYSIWIG editor, so I tried embedding it as URL content, with the content as a non-repeating background image. But the scrollbar is still there and image is still repeating! I’ve emptied the cache and tried on different browsers and the problem persists.

I’ve been at it for a couple hours now… Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • I had a similar problem. What fixed it for me is adjusting the popup height and width in the Visual Effects settings.

My problem is that I can’t get it to only show on the home page. It will show up on all pages.

Hmm, I tried adjusting the height and width but still didn’t work… It’s down now, as the event we were promoting has passed, but we’ll probably need it again so I hope to figure it out.

Regarding your problem getting it to show only on the homepage, this is how I did it:

In Base Settings, under “Paths inclusion/exclusion”, select “Show the popup only for the following paths”, and in the box put a forward slash (/). This will restrict it to the root directory, which should be where your homepage is.

As expected I needed to create a similar pop up again recently, and found a much better plugin called Modal Dialog. It achieves the same result and is far easier to customize: https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/modal-dialog/

If anyone is having problems with WP Super Popup, I suggest scrapping it and using Modal Dialog instead.
