Removing sharing links and side bar on pages

    First, thanks for the nice theme…I just installed it 2 days ago, but having trouble with the individual pages and removing all the extra stuff, like social media share links, the sidebar with Meta/Archives/etc. I just want a blank page to work with and customize.

    Also, can I add to the footer? I wanted to place address/email in the footer area and remove the powered by.

    If I can get this up and running to my liking, I will be happy to forward a donation, as I really do like your theme.

    Hi egfmcanada,

    Social links on the top bar is easily removable, actually, by default you shouldn’t see any link there, unless if you added them. So, if you want to add or remove them, just go to Appearence > Theme Options and add/remove your links there.

    About the sidebar, Meta and Archive are default to the showcase. So, if you want to replace them with any other thing, you will need to access Appearence > Widgets and add a widget on one of them. For example, if you want to replace pages sidebar, you’ll need to add a calendar widget (for example) on the Pages Widget. This theme has widget for each kind of page.

    Editing the footer is possible by accessing Appearence > Editor and choosing footer.php file, but I advice you to be careful if you don’t know what you are doing.

    Okay thanks so much Jose’ for the quick reply. I did figure a couple things out, but still having trouble with the sidebar widgets. Can you possible look at the site and tell me exactly how to install sidebar widgets on the single pages? We want to install the daily bible verse and scroll scheduled announcements on the sidebar, but can’t seem to get these widgets to work properly.

    Any help is appreciated. If you see anything else I need to do when you review the site, just let me know. We are trying to finalize everything and get the site running properly.

    Hey there,

    You’ve removed the entire sidebar from the code and their functions as well, so now it’s not possible to have widgets there.

    As I told you, you should have just add you widget (daily bible verse and scroll scheduled announcements as you wanted) going to Appearence > Widgets, choosing the Pages Sidebar.

    I advice you to reinstall/reupload the file to have the sidebar working again…

    Okay, I fixed it and the sidebar widgets are working perfectly. Now I just have a few minor things to improve and the site will be ready.
