• Hello everyone,

I’m quite new to WordPress (and have some knowledge in HTML and CSS) and I’m trying to build up a brand new personal website from scratch. I chose the Bard theme. The thing is I want the site to be displayed in its full width. I removed the contents of the widget that came by default, which were “lastest posts” and “lastest comments”. Unfortunately, it didn’t change nothing.

I learned if you change the length in the customization of the theme, in the section “general layouts” and set it to 1px, it seems that space is gone. However, it also makes the alternate sidebar set to 1px, something I don’t want to.

I want to get rid of the space from the right body but at the same time I want to keep the width of the alternate sidebar. I guess this can be done via CSS but I couldn’t find any way. I was curious if there’s a (possible) solution to that.

    Best regards.

  • The design of your site, including its layout and content widths, are controlled by your theme, and not WordPress itself.

The thing is I want the site to be displayed in its full width.

If you want a “FULL WIDTH” layout, go to your theme’s Customizer options (APPEARANCE => CUSTOMIZE => GENERAL LAYOUTS) and set ALL “Content Width” options to FULL.

I want to get rid of the space from the right body but at the same time I want to keep the width of the alternate sidebar.

I took a look at your site and the theme’s demo page, but I still couldn’t figure out what you mean by “alternative sidebar”. And if there’s ANY sidebar at all, then the content width cannot be “full width” anymore… so your two requests seem to be contradictory ??

Anyway, here’s your theme’s dedicated support forum: https://www.ads-software.com/support/theme/bard/

I’ll advise you to ask your question there so the theme’s developer and user community can help you out.

    Good luck!

I do appreciate the help and this is what I actually meant with alternative sidebar. Plus, my two requests aren’t contradictory. I’ve been clear I want make the body full width and but at the same time keep that lenght for the alternative sidebar without modifying the body.
