Removing Store Items

  • I use WordPress to power my online store, and, from an SEO standpoint, was wondering what to do with a post once the item sells? I’m concerned that Google might penalize me if I simply delete the post, and while I can simply mark the item as “sold”, I hate to clutter the site with things that are already sold. Any suggestions?
    BTW: I sell only single, unique items, so it’s not a matter of restocking inventory.

    Mark the post as sold and de-list it from the index (so people could get there if they know the URL but NOT navigate to it). That would be the best of both worlds. Or a redirect to send the old URL to the main listings.
