• I’m using the Clean Home theme and I want to remove the references to “BitBuffet.com” that are in the footer (not my doing, the reference was there when I installed the theme). How do I do that?

Also, when I uploaded the theme to WordPress, I saw that there was no mention of the theme designer or theme name at the bottom. Am I going to get into trouble if these details are not listed there? How would I add these details so I can give proper credit?

    Thanks.

We don’t give legal advice out. We respect copyright laws here, so it’s important that we first find out where you found the theme. Then we can see which license it’s released under.

Can you search www.ads-software.com’s theme repository and check if your theme resides there?

I had downloaded it from WordPress in the past, but it was removed.

Due to some technical issues, I had to re-download it, but I got it from their website free of charge: https://midmodesign.com/news/general/our-special-wordpress-theme/

I don’t intend to use the pro features, just the free theme itself. I would like to remove the mention of BitBuffet without running into copyright issues.

For support with your theme you can contact your theme’s vendors, but it’s looking better for you because it’s released under the GPL license.

Alternatively use a theme available at www.ads-software.com for support here.

    Hi wpuser40895,

Do you have a link to your site that we can check out? There certainly are a number of ways to remove this code. I would recommend a child theme off this theme and then either tweak the footer.php file (do a “find”-command f on mac-for “BitBuffet.com” and delete it) or add a line of code to style.css (add [anchorSelector]{display:none} – if you send the link I can tell you what anchorSelector should actually be).

    I hope that this helps.
