Removing the v=string safely

When you switch from “Geolocate (with page caching support)” to just “Geolocate”, the ?v=xxxx string will be removed from your URLs. This could potentially speed up your site.

However, while “Geolocate” will still apply the correct shipping costs based on the customer’s location, it may not work as effectively with caching plugins like WP Rocket. This is because the caching plugin may serve a cached version of the page before WooCommerce can determine the customer’s location and apply the correct shipping costs.

Therefore, it’s important to properly configure your caching plugin to ensure it doesn’t interfere with WooCommerce’s geolocation functionality. You may need to exclude certain pages (like the checkout and cart page) from being cached.

WP Rocket excludes these two pages by default. I think I just have to try the Gelocate setting, ask some friends in other countries to test it by putting something in the cart and look at checkout page to see whether they get the right shipping costs.
