Removing title and intervening text from my Nutmeg home page

    Thank you helping me figure out how to construct my home page with some content, followed by ‘Newest Recipes’ posts.

    It worked fine, but now I notice what I think is a change. If you look at the https://bhiggs.x10hosting.com/foodie/ page, there is a page title (which I am pretty sure wasn’t there after I made the change you suggested), and some text between the title and the ‘introduction block’. You’ll notice that text repeats what’s in the introduction block. I’m pretty sure that this text was not present before, so I don’t know what happened.

    I’m trying to remove these two items. I can’t figure out how to remove the title from this home page. And when I go in to edit the page to try to get rid of the intervening text, it isn’t there to remove. I seem to be in a Catch-22 situation.

    I’ve been floundering around trying to figure this out, with no success. It’s probably a simple thing, but I’m not seeing it.

    Any ideas?

    Hello Bryan,

    This title and content are part of your page content. You have it before the custom block patterns.
    Simply edit the page and remove that content.

    It gets weirder…

    I go into your Customizer, and choose another page (Home). When I view that page from the Pages section of the Dashboard, it shows a title of Home, and no intervening text. But when I then do ‘View Page’, I get:

    Welcome to Bryan’s Foodie Website!

    Here, you will find a number of recipes that I’ve collected over time. Some I’ve tried, some not. Those recipes I’ve tried and liked are flagged as “Bryan’s Favorites”.

    Browse away! Using the above navigation menu, you can find recipes by Cuisine, Course, or Style. Or use the search box to search for something more specific.

    followed by the introduction block.

    That title and intervening text seems to stick to more than one page.

    I’m really not sure that I understand what you are doing in the customizer.

    You provided this link: https://bhiggs.x10hosting.com/foodie/. Open it and click on Edit Page in the top (black) bar.
    You should see your content on this page, not anywhere else.

    Unfortunately here in the forums we are not allowed to ask for any kind of admin access to user websites in order to investigate such issues.

    Never mind. I figured it out. I was using the plugin “WPCode – Insert Headers, Footers, and Code Snippets”, which was inserting that title and text. I turned off that ‘snippet’, and all is well again.
