Removing Widgets that are part of the theme

Which template are you using? You can probably edit the code in a “sidebar.php” file.

It comes with an Archives and pages Widgets.

I dont want the Archives Widget but should I remove the pages one too and re-add it via the wordpress Widgets control page? Im guess that gives me more control over my wordpress layout.

Just delete this code out of the sidebar.php file and re-upload it:
