Removing WordPress Footers

  • Is it permissible to remove the WordPress footer at the bottom of the theme or must it be left in? I have read some posts which explain how to open the footer code and edit it. I have one person saying you can’t remove it and another person saying I can. I really don’t care if I need to have it in. Just curious who’s right or if this is just not clear under the WP agreement (or GPL??). Thanks

    Thanks. I kept checking WP and GPL. Yes, I paid for a license and it lets me. Didn’t install it so I just wanted to double check that I wasn’t doing anything wrong–web guy took them out.
