Rename attribute term

    Hi,

    I need to rename some of attribut term that are in use as a product variation.
    When I edit the attribute name will it automatically update the name in product variation?

    Is this going to cause issue with existing product or order?

  • For global attributes, my understanding is that an attribute has a name and a slug. Internally, the attribute is identified by its slug, so as long as you don’t change the slug, I would not expect there to be a problem. Customers see the name, not the slug.

    For custom attributes, WooCommerce will derive the slug from the name, so changing the name will make it a different attribute.

    Best to set up a dummy product and test to be sure.
