In the process of cleaning up some stuff, I joined several DBs into one DB. They all where using the default prefix of “wp_”. I did an export and renamed the prefix to something different (let’s say “new_”). I just renamed the tables and NOT the data in the tables. After I imported the data, I changed the information in the wp-config.php file.

The site works, but I can’t get into create new posts or do anything. Where did I mess up and how can I fix it?

  • I did the exact same thing earlier this week, during a move of 5-6 WP installs. Worked perfectly ?? You’re wp-config.php files all point at the right DB, and the right prefixes? You havent moved the actual WordPress files to a new directory and forgotten to update the blog url in WP options?

I didn’t move the actual files or change the URL. I did change the DB and the associated information.

    If I go to: https://domain.com/wp-admin/profile.php

I get the following message: “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

However, I am able to log in and see the dashboard. I don’t see the menu bar.

Could I have missed changing something? There where three or four things that I didn’t change because it was in the data.

I got this fixed. I had to update the data with the same prefix as the tables.
