• Is it normal? I’m trying to rename a lot of pictures and I rename them 7 or 8 at a time, but it takes 5+ minutes to finish. I don’t mind it, just asking if something is wrong on my side or if that’s how the plugin works. Thanks! Amazing plugin btw.

    Hi @vigyx,
no, usually it takes fews seconds to rename some file.

If you use revisions, you can disable revision update to speed up the process, but remember that this can cause broken link if you revert a post to an older version.

    Hope this help!

Oh, I never revert the post, I just fix and update so I guess that this won’t be a problem. One more question : I renamed some of my images and suddenly on some of my blogs images were replaced with other images. What could be the reason? Thanks for replying! ??

I never had this kind of issue and is a very serious problem!

If a filename is already present, the renaming process is stopped to prevent this kind of problem, so I can’t imagine what could be happened.

The “new” images that appeared in your posts have the same name you used for the image you renamed?

I think the title was the same yes for the picture that was replaced. I had another that just showed my alt text instead of my picture meaning that i was a broken image now. But only 2 problems with 300 images. I’ll take it , haha! Thanks for the reply!

Blank Image Issue This is the issue I’m having. Everything was green while renaming. No errors, no nothing. After refreshing the media page I get blank images.

    Hey!
    I’m using Mikado Backpack Traveler
The only plugin I have that has something to do with images is SG Optimizer. It makes WEBP Copies of the images on upload.
    Thanks for helping me out!

    Hi @vigyx,
I tried SG Optimizer but doesn’t work on any hosting except SiteGround, so I can’t do any test.

I wrote to one of the developer of SG Optimizer, he has been very kind and asked me to open a ticket with every detail.

I opened a ticket on their support forum, feel free to add your comments to my post: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/problems-with-phoenix-media-rename/

    Hi @vigyx,
@sstoqnov from SG Optimizer support has tested Phoenix Media Rename with SG Optimizer and didn’t find any issue, can you add some detail in my post on their forum (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/problems-with-phoenix-media-rename/) so they can do some more specific test?

    Thank you

Hey there! I saw that you created the post. Thank you for doing so much about my issue. Is there a way for me to send you a video of the renaming process privately? I’ve filmed the before, during and after renaming files.

    Hi @vigyx,
sure: write me at [email protected]

I’ll well be away from office for a few days, I’ll check your video as soon as possible.

Yeah, I’m having the same issue.
    SiteGround/Astra Pro/Elementor Pro

Batch renaming and retitling does just the first file.
The spinning “busy” icon is there forever.
Refresh the page and only see the first file is renamed and retitled.

I disabled revisions. I REALLY need this plugin to work. I have about 1k files I need to rename ??

    Thanks!

How do I PM you my screencast to show what’s going on with the renamer?

    Hi @loony2nz,
I can’t try SiteGroung plugin because it is restricted to SiteGround hosting, but I opened a thread on their forum, please ask here https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/problems-with-phoenix-media-rename/ for support because this is the only way to have support from SG.

You can PM me writing at [email protected]

Well, I just did another test on another hosting platform.

I’m on Cloudways and have a few domains there. I tried Phoenix on a test site to see if it’s SG Optimizer that was the issue, but….nope. The same infinite spinning icon is there on Cloudways.

I think the issue is that the loop is broken. The code will always do the first file, but never advance to the next file. Just my 2 cents.

    ??
