renaming admin login address

Hi. I downloaded the WPS hide login plug, activated it and gave a new address, and saved setting.

However, when I put in my https://www.site.com/wp_login.php

I still see the old website and when I click on Admin Login button, then it directs me to the new address.

I thought the whole point of this plugin would make the https://www.site.com/wp_login.php no longer accessible,

as I expected to see something like “Page can’t be found”?

What didn’t I do correctly in the process?
