• I thought that I understood the rename the directory thread but since Im new I guess I missed something.

I have a domain on yahoo that allows me to install WP blogs within my domain name. I have two blogs that I would like to have on this one domain I have both of them activated and there names are https://www.example.com/blog and https://www.example.com/blog1 I would like to rename those folders and have that show up in the address bar.

my problem is that when I rename the folder on my server and rename it in the WP options it gives me a 404 error. Is there a file within the WP directory that I need to rename as well. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.

  • Make sure that in each blog there is nothing in the
    /wp-content/cache
directory. If there is, delete it all. Then try looking?

    You describe the right method.
    Let us know?

There where three folders and three files in the cache folder that I deleted but still got this message

The requested URL https:// was not found on this server.

Ok I made some progress but now im having a database issue this is what comes up when I try to update

    Can’t select database

We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the database.

    * Are you sure it exists?
    * On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem?

I have been trying to log into the phpMyAdmin but a blank page comes up.
