After further testing here is what takes place:
1. If UU Registration Settings is set to Paid Activation –
* it does NOT prevent FREE SUBSCRIPTION – In other words once users complete the registration form – they are included as a member REGARDLESS if they paid or not despite being redirected to paypal.
* Registered Users can then go back to the site, login and have full access to everything without paying!
* There is no notification sent to admin or the user informing them this has happened either.
* The only way to ensure users only get access if they paid, is to set any of the paid membership package- ‘Requires Admin Moderation’ to YES.
* In this case the user is still registered and appears as a member in the WP user list as a member, but is prevented from login in until approved.
* The admin can then deny the unpaid registration –
* BUT the member is NOT deleted from the user list! They can not login but are still registered as a member.
* The denied user receives an email it had been denied, but the admin gets no notification!
Messy at best…
2. If UU is set up to manual activation –
* NO PAID PACKAGE APPEAR ON REGISTRATION FORM.
* Users register for FREE and notifications are abundant….
* User get a notification email he is waiting approval
* Admin is notified to approve the user
* Upon approval or denial user get another email informing them of their status….
* Regardless of approval or denial member remains in the user list.
The fact that members remain in the user list means they can NOT attempt to reregister with payment UNTIL they are MANUALLY deleted as a user
So the whole management of subscription is very manual!!!!
The reason I am describing it all in details is to save others from waisting their time trying to find reliable information on how it actually works.
P.S. Tried 2 different SMPT plugins to no avail! none play nice with UU – in other words NO NOTIFICATION WERE SENT AT ALL!
Please prove me wrong – I shell be delighted!
