Apologies if this is a very basic question but is there a way to reorder images in a gallery other than the drag and drop method? I have a gallery with hundreds of images so drag and drop isn’t practical. They were named to come out in the order I wanted and in the Media Library section they were in order but when the gallery and the page is created they are in reverse order.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I’m afraid there’s no other way to organize the gallery, no.

Would it perhaps be possible to split up the galley into more manageable sections, to make it easier to make such adjustments? It might even be easier for your users to parse as well if they were broken into logical chunks, as a possible “fix”?

Thanks. I might try breaking them up. Also I was playing around with it and tried one at a time or a row at a time and that seemed to keep them in order. I may have clicked the first image and then shift and the last image when I did the page so that might be why they are out of order. I may just create a new page and add them by clicking each individually.

I have the same problem and it doesn’t matter if you select from the back or the front, Gutenberg has wrecked a facile media insertion experience.
