    Hi everyone,

I want to stop using the organization of media into folders (e.g. 2012/10/file.ext). I deactivated the setting in my WordPress installation, but I want to reorganize my existing media. I can move all of my media files into the root folder and delete the subfolders, but I have hundreds of files and I don’t want to update each database entry’s GUID. Does anyone know of an SQL query that would make this simpler? I was thinking this could be accomplished with RegEx somehow, but I wouldn’t know where to start or even how to use RegEx in a database query anyways.

Any suggestions? I appreciate your help.

I just exported the entire database and used Find/Replace in Notepad to manually find the dates. This was easier, as it updated hyperlinks/file paths in all my posts and pages as well, and I only had to do it for a few months (April through October of this year).
