• I keep trying to come back to CalPress for my church calendar solution. The look is great, but the logic stumps me every time.

As a church website, we have many weekly events that repeat. I entered the first Sunday morning service to repeat indefinitely. When I checked All Events, I see that every Sunday from now until eternity (literally) is listed with Type:Repeated. I doubt I’ll ever find the second event in this list.

Really, there’s no reason to list every iteration of a repeated event. I’ve not seen any other calendar plugin that does this on recurring events.

Also, if I “trash” one of the repeated events, they all get trashed. No question such as “This date or all repeated events?”. They all disappear.

This issue is making me move on from CalPress once again.

I have to agree on everything you said, it’s highly annoying. Especially the fact you are selecting what you want to delete but CalPress decides it wants to delete every entry including the ones you have not selected.

Thing is, it’s almost there, it looks and feels great but one or two annoying Admin problems like this put you off a little.

Add me as a third person requesting this change! It’s annoying to have to navigate through 5 pages of events (with that number only growing) when 80+% of them are repeats.

Just an FYI to the previous posters – it appears that while all the individual dates are listed out for repeat events, they are still treated as a single event in the back-end, hence why modifying or deleting any one of the series will modify/delete all of them.

Count me among the church web site administrators who is frustrated with some features of CalPress. We usually have choir practice on Thursday nights and I set up a repeating event on Thursday nights for this. In reviewing this past Sunday’s bulletin, it turns out we’re not having choir practice on one particular Thursday in March 2014. It would be nice to be able to just delete this one event–especially since I know some people will complain about it being there–but I don’t see a way to just delete one occurrence in CalPress without deleting all the other occurrences in the process. Annoying!

The pro version already fixed repeating events listed as single event to the All Event List page. We will be updating the Free version as well.
