Repeatedly receiving password request every hr

  • I am experiencing large volumes of password request every hour which I have not requested. Does anybody know why is this happening or have the same problem? I am using wordpress 2.7.1, and I have 2 blogs installed.

  • It sounds like someone/something is repeatedly hitting the lost password link on your site, probably a bot. Do you have access to your site’s logs? Note the times of the requests, that will give you an idea of what time/date to look for.

    Thank you RoseCitySister, I have no clue from looking at the error logs, and I’m still getting these messages!! Can anyone please explain where the bot could be hiding so i can delete it.

    Or is there a way to stop wordpress from sending me the lost passwords emails?

    Is there any code I could put in my login page? Please Help I have had 3500 messages sent within 3days.
