The event started today and is every Thursday so I entered 10 times and accepted the end date of December 28th, but no matter what I do the event is showing every day for the next ten days. I keep getting this error –

Event hidden from public view. This event ends after the next occurrence begins. Events must end before the next occurrence begins.

Event end date: December 28, 2023 1:00 am. Next occurrence starts: November 9, 2023 8:21 pm

You’ve created an event that starts today and ends on December 28th – running continuously – and repeats every day. What you need is an event that starts today, ends today, and repeats every week until December 28th. If you put any date after Dec. 28th and before the next Thursday in the “repeats until” field, and change the event end date to the actual end of the event, it should work.

As far as My Calendar is concerned, an event is continuous. If you say an event starts today at 7pm and ends at 9:30pm, it’s 2.5 hours. If you say it ends on December 28th at 9:30pm, it’s what…around 1200 hours, give or take. An event can’t recur if it’s already happening, so My Calendar throws an error.

Okay, I did exactly what you said to do but I still get this error –

“Your event end date must be either after or the same as your event begin date”

This is really limiting my use of your plugin so please respond.
    Thanks.

Can you share a screenshot of how the event dates and repetition are configured in the admin?

If I do what you said to do I get the error message I showed previously. If I do what I thought I should do from reading your documentation the event shows on every single day until the end date. The calendar is live so I can’t do this.

You can make the changes that you expect will cause a problem and not save them. But unless I can see how you’re setting up the event, I’m only guessing at possible solutions.

Updated but how do I add screenshots?

You’ll need to link to an image saved elsewhere; you could upload it to your website, for example, and provide a link to the image here.

Thanks! So, I see what’s happening. I can improve this test in the next version, but what’s happening is that the empty date field for end date is automatically assumed to be the same value as the start date. However, because your event runs until 1am, it’s actually ending the next day.

Set the End Date field to November 28th and it’ll be fine. I should be able to make the logic smarter here, though.

I set the end date to the last Thursday of November, but it still only shows up once. ?

The event end date, not the recurring end date. Your event runs from November 27th at 9pm until November 28th at 1am, but because you’ve left the end date field empty, the plugin is using the start date as the end date.

I changed the end date and now it’s back to showing on every single day.

I changed the repetition to weekly and now the event doesn’t show up at all. Also the end time keeps changing to 10:00 AM, not 1:00 AM.

My client is asking why his event is not showing up on my calendar, but I have no answer for him.
