    Hi

I’m inheriting a site that currently uses CPT-onomies but it is very confusing and not much support or tutorials available.
CPT UI seems to have way more support and tuts.

How complex would it be to replace the plugins and keep the site running?

Do they do the same thing?

Assuming you’re referring to https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/cpt-onomies/ I’m very hesitant to say that they do the same things.

That plugin is one that allows someone to use post types as if they were taxonomies, instead of actually using what I’ll call a “natural” taxonomy when it comes to WordPress.

What our plugin does, is simply provide a UI to collect the arguments used to register either a post type or a taxonomy, instead of making someone have to type up all the code needed to do the same.

At this point, I’d say it’s be very complex to replace, because they’re going to be doing a lot of things in their plugin to make one content type behave like another, including allowing WordPress’ native taxonomy-based functions work with content in your site that they normally would not work for.
