Replace Media (link) not working

  • Hello, This is a great plugin.
    However, I have recently run into an issue when replacing a PDF in the media library. I’m choosing “Replace media” which is supposed to update any links to that media. It isn’t updating the links. I have tried it a couple times with no joy. It seems like this has started recently, because I’m sure that used to work.

    I’m not running any cache plugins. Could it be an issue with PHP version/configuration? Running PHP 5.6

    Anyone else have this issue?
    Any possible fix.

  • There are two likely reasons:

    1. The file is indeed replaced, but a cache somewhere (your browser, a proxy server) keeps the old PDF.

    2. The file on the server does not have correct permissions for allowing the web server to replace it.
