Hello. Why on earth would replace entries not be permanent? It seems all this plugin does is mask changes. Delete any entry and all your changes revert. Extremely frustrating and disappointing. Is there something I’m missing here?

I think you’re missing the value in this sort of replace likely because your needs are different than the intended audience. For example, many people are using this to modify the behavior of a theme or the output from another plugin. By not having these replaces permanent, you’re able to update themes and plugins and still have the rules function.

If I had to guess, I’d say you’re looking for a different kind of plugin that modifies entries in the database. I use one called Search RegEx for that kind of work.

Okay. This plugin was recommended to me by WP Engine. I’ll try Search RegEx then. Thank you!

Again I think it depends on your intended use. If you’re looking to modify theme output or plugin output without writing any code, my plugin is the way to do so. Other search and replace plugins focus more on modifying content in the database such as replacing one word with another.

Hi Marious, I noticed that the plug-in stopped working for me after a couple of days. I didn’t try re-installing yet but this is worrying if the “effect” is on a timer as it were. Is this a feature or a malfunction? Thanks

There is nothing intentionally done to prevent the plugin from working after a period of time i.e. there are no time limits.
