Replacing an Existing Website – Search Engines and Stuff

Hello Everyone,

I have spent the weekend writing up a new website with WordPress, but a colleague of mine asked me a very interesting question…

My site is several years old and is getting a decent amount of traffic for what I do. However, all the search engine submission I have done and different html pages each get their own hits so I was wondering if I replace the website, I should expect a loss of hits?

Anyway to get around this?
