Replacing Google Fonts with Web Safe Fonts Manually
-
Hello,
I’d like to completely replace Google Fonts with standard good old fashioned Web Safe Fonts on my self-hosted WP site (currently under construction) for maximum load speed, user privacy, and simplicity. The parent style.css file for the theme that I’m using (Escutcheon) makes use of two Google Fonts.
My question is this: If I manually replace the Google Fonts with standard Web Safe font-families in my customized child theme style.css file, will the Google Fonts in the parent style.css file still trigger the call to Google’s font servers, or will my customized child theme style.css file stop this from happening?
I’m a noob, so apologies if my question strikes you as dumb, and thank you in advance for being kind, and for whatever help you can provide. ??
