    Hello again,

I was wondering if there is an easy method of replacing an image file, without losing it’s metadata, and without requiring the updating of img links in my posts.

For example – I have an image with a problem, and I want to replace it with a file after photoshoping it, but without having to go on all the posts and change the image link to the new image, and without losing the descriptions and other information linked to the original file.

    Thank you.

@yaronraz – Have you tried using the same file name and uploading the “new” image over-writing the existing image? You may need to regenerate the thumbnail for the new image but you should retain the details of the image from under Gallery > Manage Galleries provided the new images does not include meta data that would normally be used in those places.

    Thanks!

I have actually been doing that by FTP uploading and overwriting the files.
After the overwrite, I update the thumbnails.

Two issues I have with this:
First – The file resolution and dimensions don’t get updated from the new file.
Second – I have a lot of directories, and was hoping there is an easier way to go through the control panel, and not through FTP.

@yaronraz – I’m not sure which file resolution and dimensions you are referring to … and unfortunately there is no other method to recommend based on what you are describing you want to do.

    Thanks!
