    Hello,

Didn’t see any reference to spaces being replaced

WordPress, by default, already replaces spaces with dashes. So there’s no need for the plugin to do anything with spaces.

and dashes are usually preferable to underscores.

The plugin is intended to avoid issues with server file systems, not for SEO.
I never experienced issues with underscores, so I have no plans to replace them by default.

But you can always add additional modifications to the filename using the scf_friendly_filename filter and your own code, see the FAQ.

    Thanks for your reply.

In the case of _ vs -, I wasn’t thinking about SEO but Usability, as underscores can be invisible in underlined links and Ctrl-Arrow to jump from word to word doesn’t work with underscores. www.ads-software.com URLs favor dashes, by the way.

And yes, I read the FAQ. It’s nice to have the option to add additional filters. It’s just I’d loved not to have to make custom changes.

    Best.
