Replacing the Image does not seem to generate the thumbnails?

Hey All I recently followed this tutorial https://www.loom.com/share/a4fc02887b1e4f95b54a0eec9c746d2c and it didn’t work so i added my own steps along the way to get it working https://www.loom.com/share/dc49044da4054e368feeb864c90e2cda . I assume this is not intended behavior and the plugin should be replacing the thumbnails?
