Replies to comments in my theme appear as new comments

  • I have built a new theme that matches my website. It’s temporarily located at https://smilingbackmethod.com/video/blog/.

    Except for one thing, the theme appears to work perfectly. The problem is comment threading. When I reply to a comment, the reply always appears as a new comment. If I switch to the default theme, the replies to comments thread correctly. When I switch back to my theme, the replies made while in the default theme appear correctly but I still can’t get new replies to comments to thread as replies.

    I’ve tried to resolve this but can’t find why this is happening.
    Where should I be looking to fix this problem?
