“Reply to comment” not working anymore

    Hi

    One of your recent updates has caused the default WP “reply to comment” functionality to be unusable on our site. There is no JS error or something like this, just no reaction at all. Users can leave a comment on our page, but they can not reply to one.

    The feature is working again as soon as I deactivate your plugin.

    We are running v18.9 as of today, but the feature was broken with the previous version already.

    Can you please check and provide a fix here?

    Hi @schweizerschoggi

    One of the (hidden) features of the Yoast SEO plugin is the removal of ?replytocom variables.

    If you want to disable this feature, you can add this filter to your functions.php file:

    add_filter( 'wpseo_remove_reply_to_com', '__return_false' );

    Thank you for your help! I can confirm that this “fix” is working for our blog.

    I am just curious: this isn’t a new feature, is it?
    Just wondering why nobody mentioned before that this hidden feature is blocking a common WP feature..

    But anyway, this is good to know and I will keep that in mind in case that something “strange” is happening in the future
